On June 16th, President of Sensei Enterprises, Sharon D. Nelson, Esq. was quoted in Virginia Lawyers Weekly about the bar’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee (which she chairs) and how is seeking tougher penalties for UPL. On July 5th, Metropolitan Corporate Counsel.com published an article which highlighted a case study done by Sensei Enterprises (in conjunction with its SM-ART offering with Applied Discovery) regarding employee usage of social media within a corporation. The study highlighted risks for the corporation, a plan to analyze what employees are doing on social media sites, and recommendations to minimize the risks associated with these sites. Sensei Principals Sworn in as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Abused and Neglected Children
Sensei President Sharon D. Nelson, Esq. and Vice President John W. Simek were recently sworn in by Fairfax Juvenile and District Relations Court Judge Helen Leiner as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for abused and neglected children. CASA is a program that trains volunteers to serve as advocates for children whose families have been cited for abuse and neglect by the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. The CASAs “speak for the child” and are “the eyes and ears of the judge” who talk to everyone involved in a child’s case and write a report for the judge with recommendations.
