The Kennedy Center
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

The Kennedy CenterSince opening its doors on September 8, 1971, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has produced and presented an unmatched variety of theater and musicals, dance and ballet, orchestral, chamber, jazz, popular, and folk music, and multi-media performances for all ages. As the nation’s busiest arts facility, it presents more than 2,000 performances each year, but receives no direct federal appropriations for its artistic activities, depending on contributors to meet its budget each year. As a Patron-level contributor, Sensei helps make it possible for the Kennedy Center to charge ticket prices that the public can afford while it continues to create new works of art and provide what President Kennedy called “our contribution to the human spirit.”
